If you have the time, then it is well worth playing Katathong Golf Club’s 18 hole championship course amid lush mountains laid out around a former tin mine. Although a quiet country course, they have hosted the Chang Championship in 2017 and the recent Thai Swedish Trophy in 2018.

Nestled in ‘the valley of dreams’ it only takes approximately an hour’s drive from Phuket’s International Airport, and is located in Phang Nga province 18 kilometers from Phang Nga Town and 40 kilometers from the center of Khao Lak which is north of Phuket Island.

The golf course offers stunning green mountain views from every angle of the course. The natural contours of the fairway featuring undulating hills carve into beautiful mountains in the surrounding area. Golfers may find narrow fairways as a challenge feature of this golf course. Accuracy is more important than distance when playing on this golf course.

The clubhouse is designed in Sino-Portuguese architectural style and decorated with memorabilia from the mining era. This course is also great if you are saying in nearby Khao Lak, Krabi or Phang Hha.
