Phuket Country Club

Island’s first course; great views and layout

Phuket Country Club emerged as the first championship-standard 18-hole golf course on the resort island, boasting a central location just a short drive from all beach and hotel areas.

Nestled in a valley, the golf course at Phuket Country Club winds its way through hills and limestone cliffs, traversing three distinct environments with six holes in undulating hills, six on level ground, and six through a landscape forest.

The layout presents an engaging challenge, particularly in the front nine, featuring undulating and demanding holes where precision off the tee is crucial. Notably, the consecutive short par-4s at 6 and 7 offer elevated tees at the edge of the jungle. The back-nine, slightly more open and flatter, introduces the first significant water hazard at the par-5 10th, a renowned hole that encircles a large lake from an elevated tee box. Golfers must decide how much of the water hazard to challenge, with long hitters aiming for an albatross or even a hole-in-one opportunity. The 10th hole, unique and polarizing, claims numerous balls daily.

Water also plays a role at the short par-4 16th and the island green par-3 17th, among the best short holes in Phuket. Straight-faced pot bunkers guard several greens, while fairway bunkers guide the driveline from the tee.
